Register NowMore than 2,200 highly engaged individuals attended the 2024 Trauma Quality Improvement Program Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, November 12-14. The theme was 鈥淓nhancing Quality through Communication,鈥 and the importance of communication was woven throughout every plenary and breakout session.听
One of the meeting highlights was an energetic motivational talk on teamwork, communication, and trust by adventure guide and wilderness EMT Jeff Evans, who helped a blind man summit Mount Everest. The always-popular trauma survivor session featured Geralyn Ritter and her gripping story of survival from the Amtrack 188 derailment outside of Philadelphia. In a split second, she went from being a devoted mother of three boys and a globe-trotting senior executive to an immobilized ICU patient on a ventilator facing a highly uncertain future.听
The CEO sessions on 鈥淧ositioning Your Trauma Center for Success鈥 and 鈥淒ollars and $ense鈥 both drew standing-room-only crowds. Additionally, enthusiastic attendees engaged in multiple improv sessions as a way to practice the power of curiosity, creativity, and meaningful interaction that helps improve communication with patients, colleagues, family, and friends.听
