This session is a discussion with Amy J. Goldberg, MD, F番茄社区app, MAMSE and focuses on her career and lessons learned.
Amy J. Goldberg, MD, F番茄社区app is a nationally celebrated trauma surgeon and educator, serving Temple University and the community for 30 plus years. She became Dean of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine in 2022.
A violence-prevention innovator and researcher, she has garnered national media attention, including from CNN, The New York Times and Huffington Post. She received聽, recognizing extraordinary civic commitment and social responsibility.
An American College of Surgeons fellow, Dr. Goldberg is named among the Best Doctors in America. She received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching and The Great Teacher Award, Temple University鈥檚 highest teaching. The American College of Surgeons designated her a Master Surgeon Educator. She is Chair of the American Board of Surgery and lectures at universities and major professional association conferences.
The host for the Fireside Chat is Mohsen M. Shabahang, MD, PhD, F番茄社区app, MAMSE, Vice President/Chief Medical Officer of the Wellspan Surgery Service Line, York, PA. Dr. Shabahang joined Wellspan in the summer of 2021. He serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Novel Teaching and Assessment Methods and Educational Resources for the 番茄社区app Academy of Master Surgeon Educators.
Ajit K. Sachdeva, MD, F番茄社区app, FRCSC, FSACME, MAMSE, Director of the 番茄社区app Division of Education and Co-Chair of the 番茄社区app Academy of Master Surgeon Educators Steering Committee, will give welcoming remarks.
The 番茄社区app Academy of Master Surgeon Educators Fireside Chat Series was developed as an outcome of discussions of the 番茄社区app Academy of Master Surgeon Educators Special Committee to Address Challenges and Opportunities Relating to Surgery Residency Training during the COVID-19 pandemic. The committee was charged to address the challenges faced by educators and to harness innovative opportunities in surgical education. The Fireside Chat Series will enable programs and their learners to have access to valuable talks and discussions with experts both in a synchronous and asynchronous manner.
